Thank you for listening to Write On! Audio.  This edition has been presented and produced by Chris Gregory. Write On! Audio is an Alternative Stories production for Pen to Print.Â
This podcast is produced using public funding from Arts Council England.

Gboyega was writer in residence with Rabbits Road Institute Library supported by Pen to Print in 2020, working on a new set of poems and interviews which came together in pamphlet Two stops short of Barking, published in May 2021 and available to buy here. Listen now as Gboyega Odubanjo delivers an audio-essay-as-journey through Dagenham, specifically around the Becontree Estate where he lived. The audio piece features three poems from Gboyega’s pamphlet ‘Two stops short of Barking’, plus music, documentary footage, popular cultural references, field recordings and more. Made in collaboration with Lucia Scazzocchio of Social Broadcasts.Â
Tragically, Gboyega Odubanjo passed away in August 2023, aged 27. Pen to Print hopes this work remains as a tribute to a talented artist, lost too early.
